“Outwardly, the mound consists of three parts:
a columnar spire atop a conical base. The spire reaches on average about 3 meters high, but it can reach as high as 9 meters.
a conical base, roughly 4-5 meters in diameter and roughly 1.5 meters tall
a broad outwash pediment, roughly 10-20 meters in diameter, consisting of soil eroded from the mound.“

Mound 3D modeling steps:
- Trace mound, creating many varied layers, with negative space left to create conduits, nest, etc.
- 2D result from tracing is to then be extruded into 3D
- Each extruded slice will then be layered up to create a “mound”
The SketchUp process of freehand tracing was one feature I hadn't used as much, and thus, turned out to be more tedious/cause more difficulty than I had imagined. For this reason, my work was going slow. I decided to group weeks 3 & 4 as the work I had been doing was relatively the same.
