This is the final rendition of the plankton worm model, equipped with both UV activated glow paint to simulate the luciferin that allows for the blue glow all over the body, and the yellow battery lights that emulate the distracting and uncommon yellow glow of the parapodia to distract predators. The plankton worm, due to its normally transparent appearance, is highly difficult to detect when not emitting light, and with its unique movement, displaces little water, making it a stealthy organism when it needs to prey on other planktonic creatures. The contrast between the battery powered lights and the painted light allows for a more exaggerated view of how the plankton worm can distract other organisms, and with the battery-powered blue light through the center of the body, you can see how the glow enhances the form of the worm.
