Seadragons - Final Update
Caroline Barlow
To end this project, I created this illustration showcasing one of the leafy seadragon’s most notable qualities, its amazing camouflage ability. In fact, adult leafy seadragons have no natural predators because they are so skilled at avoiding predation by blending into kelp forests, changing their color to aid in camouflage, and using the sharp spines along their back to defend themselves. My goal in this piece was to keep the seadragon from being immediately noticeable and require an extra few moments of looking in order to spot it among the kelp.
And here is the sketch for this piece!
