Hi! The name's Aly and I'm an aspiring animator at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Starting next semester I'll be a sophomore, and I'm really excited to finally start taking some courses in animation! I usually prefer to make digital artwork, but from time to time I enjoy torturing my poor poor hands and soul by taking on some pointillism as well. I'm a huge D&D geek, and I love listening to music and reading graphic novels.
Back at home there's a place called the National Marine Life Center, where I visited their inhabitants all the time. I learned a bunch about marine life as a kid, and I even ended up volunteering there weekly throughout middle and high school. NMLC's a really special place to me and I have fond memories of working with their turtles and visiting the seals they rehabilitated there. I definitely recommend checking NMLC out if you're interested, they're wonderful people and they do a lot to keep the community interested and involved in marine life.
Anyways! My project is going to be a picture book that’ll illustrate the similarities and differences between seals, sea lions, and walruses. Also known as pinnipeds. I really hope to make my work simple and easy to read, so even kids could read it, and not have it feel like a total chore, as if it's reading a school textbook or something. Here are a few boys I've drawn for project potentially~
And here's Larry
I'm not sure if I'm actually going to name them in the finished product, but if not, you have now obtained some Pinnipeducation lore:)
