Nest Flipping part 2

 Hello and welcome back!

This week I tried experimenting with different materials to create an alternative bird's nest. Last week I used basswood sticks and I notice how heavy the end results were. It couldn't stand on its own. This time I used black foam core. Started cutting up small sticks:

I would then glue each piece, shifting and alternating the direction in each course. Trying y best to imitate the shape of the swiftlet bird's nest.

The result is a lighter nest. This nest was also faster to make than the one made from basswood. Foam core took me about 30 mins and the basswood took about 1 hour and 30 mins.
