Freshwater Crayfish: Week 3

This week I was looking at the anatomy of a crayfish so that I could start building my fabric model.

I am just working with a basic anatomy of a crayfish for the model. Just something that can realistically be sewn and will offer a good representation of a crayfish.

I plan to paint the model with fabric paints later to resemble the Cherax Pulcher, commonly known as a Thunderbolt Crayfish.

I am working with my sketches but I did not exactly plan out a pattern or specific measurements. I am just building the model as I go.

Crayfish belong to the phylum Arthropoda (joint-foot) which describes their segmented bodies. The cephalothorax is the head and upper body, and the abdomen is the segmented tail-end of the crayfish.
