About Me:
My work tends to deal with the distortion of memory through the act of recall. I am interested in the documentation of life, and in my work, that primarily consists of childhood memories. I typically display these memories through a series of abstracted collages, taking images from old prints, photos, tickets, and other found materials.
Project Synopsis:
Due to my interest in memory and the documentation of life, I plan on creating four abstracted collages based on each cycle of the cecropia moth’s (the largest moth in North America) existence. Due to this moth’s lack of digestive system, their lifespan is limited to two weeks, with the primary purpose of mating. Through my abstracted visual interpretations of the cecropia, I hope to bring attention to the short, yet beautiful, life of this creature.
