Dumbo Octopus ?

I’m a senior in Architecture Design. I enjoy model making with various materials at different sizes. I get inspiration from thinking and imagination. I always try to imagine my designs before drawing them on paper, and then working them out through samples.  

Introducing Dumbo Octopus !

Dumbo Octopus (Grimpoteuthis)

There are 13 recognized species under Grimpoteuthis that consist of umbrella octopuses. All of the Dumbo octopus have the same feature that makes them adorable - their ear-like fins. The Dumbo Octopus's ear-like fins make them stand out among other octopods. They use these fins to propel through the water and steer through water currents. The Dumbo octopus is small, compared to other octopus. They have variety of shapes and colors and have the ability to camouflage themselves to their environment.

Project ?

This project will be exploring the Dumbo octopus in both movement, size and color. The physical aspect I will bring in is creating a toy model of the Dumbo octopus out of clay that will be made to scale, emphasizing the physical attributes the Dumbo octopus has along with its movement in water.
