Allegory to resettlement (Monarch Butterfly)

Learn how to differentiate males from females

Males have two lower black dots (these are odor glands)

Females have thicker wing veins

They migrate in an annual pilgrimage of 2,500 miles approx. using an internal compass. This compass uses the location of the sun in the sky and the time of the day. It takes 4 or 5 generations to make it to Canada. Their life span is 2 to 6 weeks.

Super monarchs are bigger and last 8 times longer than their parents so they can make the trip back to Mexico in one generation.

This week the painting process continues and I made a short stop motion video
